Services

What We Offer

Sisters Empowerment Foundation, Inc. offers an array of services to girls and women that are both preventive and interceptive. SEF's programming kicked off in January of 2009.

We offer (i) summer retreats, (ii) monthly seminars, workshops and training classes (iii) counseling referrals, (iv) a community development initiative (v) a mentoring program (vi) cultural field trips and (vii) fundraising efforts to accomplish our mission. A portion of SEF's fundraising proceeds will be donated to HIV/AIDS research.

Sex & Health-Based Seminars
Girls will meet the 2nd Saturday of each month from September to May to participate in health-oriented seminars facilitated by certified health care professionals and consultants.

Mentoring Program
Girls will be paired with a college mentor in industries ranging from the legal profession to health and wellness. This program will assist girls in establishing constructive business relationships, prior to entering the workforce.

Community Initiatives
A team-based project that will allow women and girls, jointly, to focus on beautifying one aspect of their respective communities while building character and establishing positive relationships.

Professional Development Workshops & Counseling
Women will participate in monthly presentations, seminars and workshops designed to develop a positive image in women affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Summer Retreat
Girls will participate in a five-week retreat designed to provide a hands-on, interactive summer experience that addresses the life decisions and critical issues that young women face.
Clothes Drive
SEF will collect new and gently used business and business casual attire to assist adult participants in re-entering the workforce and reclaiming their lives after HIV/AIDS infection.
